Hospitable vs Guesty Lite for small hosts
Checked Nov 6, 2026. Prices in US$ a month, billed monthly unless noted.
The short version
Hospitable suits a host who wants to start free and keep things simple. It costs less on monthly billing, but its direct booking site starts at US$59.
Guesty Lite suits a host who wants a direct booking site from the first listing. It stops at three listings; beyond that, Guesty Pro is by quote.

What I found trying both
I have rental experience and I'm weighing up Airbnb myself, so I signed up for both trials and tried them.
- Sign-up: both were reasonably fast, with no credit card or commitment to start.
- Guesty looks heavy duty, more of an enterprise solution, and onboarding is definitely slower.
- Hospitable shows what you get with each plan, and its Essentials plan is free.
- My view: with one rental to think about, I'd start on Hospitable. It has a free plan, it spells out what each plan includes, and it took less effort to get going. Guesty felt aimed at bigger operations than mine.
- Hospitable looks more community focused, and the amount of new features recently is good.
- What makes me wary: many Reddit threads say Hospitable's help has been handed more and more to AI.

Is Guesty's 1% worth it?
The 1% applies only to the US$9 price. That price is cheaper than Guesty's own US$27 while a listing books under US$1,800 a month, and dearer above that. Against Hospitable Host at US$29 for one listing, the line is US$2,000 a month.
Catches
- Hospitable: Host stops at two listings, so the third moves you to Professional. A fee of US$10 applies if dynamic pricing is on for a listing with no check-ins in the billing cycle. Direct booking, Google listing and lock and thermostat automations start at Professional. On the free plan, upsells carry a 10% fee and security deposits 2%.
- Guesty Lite: the two lowest prices are billed yearly, the lowest adds 1% of all reservations, and the fourth listing means asking for a quote. Guesty's public pricing page says it charges no percentage fees on direct reservations; the 1% appeared on the plan screen inside the trial.
What hosts say on Reddit
From five r/ShortTermRentals threads, read Nov 6, 2026. It's a small sample of people moved to post, and one thread warns about paid accounts, so treat these as things to check during a trial, not findings.
- Hospitable support: the recent complaints are AI first, slow to reach a person, and a different agent each time. Hospitable's own account tells users to ask the bot for a human. Others, including hosts with several properties, say support has been fine.
- Hospitable and Vrbo: the most serious stories involve the Vrbo connection: failed syncs, lost calendar blocks and duplicate properties. Hospitable said in a thread that it's rolling out a new Vrbo integration. If you list on Vrbo, test this first.
- Hospitable's plans: some say prices keep rising and features have moved to higher plans.
- Hospitable's praise: AI message drafts, easy lock and thermostat connections, and frequent new features. Hosts with 6 to 40 properties report few problems.
- Guesty: the main complaints are cost and paid add-ons, and AI replies from support here too. Some operators praise its training and room to grow, and one who left Hospitable rates its Vrbo link higher. Nearly all of this is about Guesty Pro, not Lite.
