Hospitable vs Hostaway for small hosts
Checked Nov 6, 2026. Prices in US$.
The short version
Hospitable suits a host with one to ten listings who wants to see prices before talking to anyone. It has a free plan, a 14-day trial with no card, and published paid plans.
Hostaway suits a growing team or a professional manager. Its pricing page is a questionnaire that starts at two listings, and it publishes no prices. A single-listing host is sent to a waitlist.
Hostaway publishes no price. Third-party sites quote figures that disagree with each other, so none are printed here as fact.

Hospitable's home page says "no revenue fees charged". That is its claim; the direct-booking fees above are on the same plans. A fee of US$10 applies if dynamic pricing is on for a listing with no check-ins in the billing cycle.
What I found trying Hospitable
I have rental experience and I'm weighing up Airbnb myself, so I signed up for the trial and tried it. Hostaway has no public trial that I could find.
- Setup is intuitive and quick. Getting started is four easy steps: add the property, connect dynamic pricing, add your cleaner's details, and download the mobile app.
- No credit card for the trial was a real nice touch, and it makes the company feel trustworthy.
- It's all about connecting things to save effort. There are lots of automations to cut the work of managing a rental, and plenty of ways to connect tools that drive revenue and save time.
- The community is very active. The hub has lots of resources, 15 on getting started alone, plus show and tells from the team on ideas like upsells and increasing revenue, and success guides such as "How to get more out of direct bookings" and "How to drive more Upsells".
What each says about the other
These are competitors' claims, not independent findings.
- Hostaway about Hospitable: easy and affordable, best for individual hosts and small portfolios, but short on customizable reporting and an open API, and may not suit growing teams. Source
- Smoobu about both: Hostaway hides its prices, charges big setup fees and is overkill under 10 properties; Hospitable costs about US$40 for one property. Smoobu sells a rival product, and its figure conflicts with Hospitable's published US$29 (it may reflect an older plan). Source
- Hospitable about Hostaway: the comparison table on its home page marks Hostaway "partial", with little detail. Source
